Congratulations to Debbie Carton our 2018 Woodholme Club Champion. Not only was it great golf, it was a great match and most importantly a display of great sportsmanship that both players should be proud of. The entire day the match was close as they were all square 14 of the holes played. Still all square they went to the final hole where each of them had to make a putt to continue the match to go extra holes. Unfortunately the heat had taken its toll on Debi Rothstein as she fell ill and unable to continue the hole and the match. One of the first things Debbie Carton said was we should be co-champions. The two players discussed the situation the next day and rather than a co-championship Debi Rothstein conceded the hole as stated by the Rules of Golf. Congratulations again to Debbie Carton -the work that she has put into her game showed as she played some great golf and hit some great quality shots under pressure. Debbie's game and sportsmanship make her a great Champion Woodholme can be proud of.
First Flight Club Championship Results
This is the first year in recent times that we have fielded a first flight in the Club Championship. Four matches were played in this flight and all four matches went to the 18th hole.....how about that for some great matches. Congratulations to our first flight Champion Jane Siegel as she defeated Rhona Rosengarden in the finals down to the 18th hole.
